Anise Cookies Recipe
These cookies have a moderate anise flavor, which is complemented with anise icing. If you're serving them plain, or if you really love anise, you can increase the amount of anise extract to 2 teaspoons.

- 3/4 cups Unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 Large Eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoon Anise extract
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 3 cups All-Purpose Flour

Cream together:
Butter
Sugar -

Beat in:
Eggs
Anise extract -

Add:
Vanilla extract
Salt
All purpose flour - 4 Mix until all ingredients are well blended. Chill dough 3 to 4 hours before rolling

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Roll dough out on a lightly floured counter to 1/4 inch thickness and cut with your favorite Ann Clark Ltd. cookie cutters, then transfer cookies onto cookie sheets that have been lined with parchment paper or silicone liners.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly colored. Let cookies cool slightly on cookie sheets, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Decorate with anise icing, or enjoy plain.
